SDU Soft Robotics participated in the 9th IEEE International Conference on Soft Robotics (RoboSoft 2026), held in Kanazawa, Japan 🇯🇵, from April 7–11, 2026, with multiple contributions.

Saravana P. Murali Babu, together with Poramate Manoonpong, Rebecca Kramer-Bottiglio, and Kotaro Yasui, organized a successful workshop on “Soft Transitions,” which focused on locomotion transitions in robots and how animal movement inspires roboticists to develop creative and innovative solutions for seamless transitions. In this workshop, Ahmad Rafsanjani gave a talk on “limbless crawling soft robots,” and Aida Parvaresh presented her work on a snake-inspired soft robot for rectilinear locomotion.

Our PhD student Arman Goshtasbi, along with postdocs Aida Parvaresh and Jonathan Tirado, presented posters and engaged the audience with live demos at ZooQuarium. We also participated in the interactive workshop “Soft Actuators to the Rescue!”—a fantastic hands-on experience and a great opportunity to exchange ideas.

We are grateful for the inspiring discussions, collaborations, and energy from this amazing community, and we look forward to RoboSoft X in Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺!
